Northlights transform a school from 1961 to a bright and inspiring learning environment
Originally built in 1961, the school is characterised by classic high-quality 60s architecture and design.
However, many years of use have taken their toll on the building and a recent refurbishment has brought the school up to modern standards.
As part of the renovation, the school’s 60 year old skylights were replaced by 104 VELUX modular skylights that created a bright and attractive learning environment.
The renovation has been well received by the local community and has helped restore pride among students and teachers at the school.
-
Four rows of Northlights, 104 modules in all, were installed.
-
The installation was completed in less than two weeks.
-
7 venting skylight modules ensure fresh air throughout the day.
Students and teachers are especially pleased with the central atrium, which echoes the original aesthetics of the building and fills the school with daylight.
