Title Tag and Meta Description

SEO optimization

Title Tags and Meta Descriptions are an important parameter in optimizing our digital presence / better ranking on search engines such as Google.

Important

All pages must have their own unique Title Tag and Meta Description otherwise neither search engines nor users can see the difference on the different pages.

Title Tags

A Title Tag is a short page title that describes what content exists on a specific page. Search engines use the Title Tag to evaluate what the page is about and whether the content is relevant to the user or not. It MUST contain the primary keyword of the page.

An ideal length is max 60 characters including postfix ( | VELUX Commercial).
When creating a page title it should be no longer than 42 characters as the postfix will be added automatically by Sitecore.

Meta Description

A short text describing the content of the page. The text should convince the user that the page is exactly what they are looking for. The text is an ad and MUST include the primary keyword.

An ideal length is between 140-160 characters. If longer, search engines will cut off the extra characters.
