Natural daylight without nuisance sun glare creates ideal conditions
Indoor activities benefit from daylight and fresh air inside the impressive new multipurpose facility for sports, arts & culture and general community activities located on Arsenaløen, a heritage island neighbourhood in Copenhagen.
Daylight and fresh air stimulate athletes in the 2,500 m² sports hall, which features three Longlight modules in a 60 m² rooflight solution. Through the design project on the hall's utilisation, siting, appearance and energy performance, the architects CCO Arkitekter constructed the north-facing Longlights at a 20° pitch in deep-tilt linings to provide plenty of natural light without glare from the sun.
For every daylit hour when the hall is in use, citizens of the City of Copenhagen reduce their electricity bill, and users of the hall enjoy better lighting and optimum conditions for sports and athletics.
