Open learning areas and flexible working zones optimise school life
The central idea behind the refurbishment of the Pischelsdorf primary school was to create an open plan space and brighten up the existing buildings from the 1970s.
Open learning environments and meeting areas were planned in order to offer space for different activities. They serve as individual learning zones or can be used for events.
Thanks to the VELUX Longlight used, which connects the sports hall and the learning areas, daylight falls on two floors and illuminates the rooms.
In order to create a further point of contact with the outside, direct exits from the classrooms onto a spacious terrace were created on the courtyard side. This arrangement encourages outdoor learning and ensures that pupils are getting sufficient daylight.
