A historic old train shed has been transformed into a trendy workplace for 150 entrepreneurs
UCo, Utrecht Community, is a working community in the centre of Utrecht where entrepreneurs and SMEs can build a sustainable and circular society and economy.
The building offers 2,000 m²
of office, demonstration and workshop space and to complete the environmentally friendly expression of the building, the hall is filled with plants and trees.
- The goal of the renovation was to recover the inherent qualities of the old building, increasing its sustainability and adding new elements to support the new functions.
- The glazing of the sawtooth roof has been replaced with VELUX Modular Skylights. Seven rows of VELUX provide the main daylight and 14 venting modules allow fresh air into the building.
