Wood meets daylight
From the construction of the façade right through to the interior, the addition of the administration building demonstrates what wood from local forests can achieve in modern buildings.
When the forestry commission headquarters was extended, the historic main building from 1923 was preserved. The additional space requirement was achieved with an adjoining annex.
In the centre of the three-storey office building is a multi-zone area, which is spatially connected across all floors and illuminated with VELUX Modular Skylights.
- A VELUX Ridgelight, which is installed as an independent element on the flat roof, supplies this area with daylight and natural ventilation.
- Installation of the 18 skylight modules was carried out by two carpenters in a very short time thanks to the prefabricated modular design.
Several VELUX flat-roof windows, some with SHEV function, were also installed in the connecting wing between the old and new buildings.
