Modern open plan offices in a historic former railway building
After decades of lying unused, the listed buildings of a former railway depot have been given a new lease of life. What was once a workshop for repairing steam locomotives, now serves as offices for a number of companies.
VELUX Modular Skylights make a significant contribution to the refurbishment, enriching the historical flair of the industrial halls in a contemporary way.
- A combination of VELUX Ridgelight and VELUX Longlight solutions, in different sizes, are used throughout the historic building.
- In total, 260 skylight modules were installed, most of them fixed, but many also openable with SHEV function.
Due to the considerable depth of the halls, the use of daylight through the roof was key to the design. The VELUX Ridgelight, which runs the length of the central common area, creates a friendly and bright working environment for employees.
